It's been so long since we've had Ethiopian food, and this place was the BOMB! Plus, the owner and his family were really nice. I definitely recommend coming here.

Absolutely wonderful experience! We were in the area on vacation a few months back and we came in about an hour before closing and ended up staying until about 30 minutes after closing talking with the owner. It is a family run restaurant and the atmosphere is great! We had the fried Tilapia- which should be a crime it’s so good, the veggie combo on injera- which had some new flavors for me all of which we enjoyed, and Sambusa- which is like a fried dough with beef or lentils- both of which were great. The best part of everything is that it is cooked fresh (excluding things like the veggie platter toppings and fillings for Sambusa which is stewed to perfection). The service was fantastic, so attentive and helpful. I had this ginger tea, it is strong with ginger flavor but it makes you feel like it is so good for you! I was in vacation in California from North Carolina and ate at so many restaurants all over California during our week stay and this experience stood out to be above all other! They have great vegetarian options and will help you chose if you are unfamiliar with the menu. They were so sweet about frying our fish fresh even though it was close to closing time. They even have traditional American breakfast with some African options as well. Don’t hesitate to give them a try! You will be glad you did! If I ever come back to anywhere close to the area I would drive to see them with no hesitation!

Went with two friends and ordered several items to try (veggie combo, doro wot, alicha wot, key wot) Each one was so flavorful and the house-made cheese was a perfect cold way to reset the tastebuds in between bites. The owner and waitstaff were extremely friendly, the atmosphere inside the restaurant felt like a small community. The spiced coffee was pleasantly different from a normal black coffee. The spice blend in it warmed the heart and stomach. Can’t wait to be back for more!

So we paid 60 total (including tip) for a combined veggie and key wot platter!! The food was soooo nummy-licious. I say that as a foodie who loves spicy food, flavors, and texture. The service was so amazing, me and my friend went around 7pm on a Wednesday so it was mostly empty but the guy who works there (I presume the owner) was super kind and generous. The beef stew in the center was super delicious and spicy. I really enjoyed the collared greens, they had a slight sour flavor as well as the yellow veggies (idk what they are) but they had a pickled flavor to them and it was amazing. There were 3 types of lentils, all differing in flavor, my favorite were the green ones. The orange-brown paste were chickpeas, they were good too. The cheese was okay, it honestly just tasted like cheese. If you’re not a foodie or into spicy or sour foods then maybe the veggie platter and the spicy beef aren’t for you, my friend didn’t like the strong flavors as much as I did. But I definitely think it’s worth the try!! I’ll definitely be going again.
